Cuillin Ridge Traverse

The Cuillin Ridge is known as the UK’s most challenging mountain adventure. The route follows the 12km ridge crest across 12 munros on the beautiful Isle of Skye, Scotland. A full traverse takes around 20 hours to complete and this is best split over 2 days with a bivouac overnight on the mountain. Ratios for guiding are 1:1 or 2:1, although if you do sign up as a pair we encourage that you are of similar abilities and willing to work as a team. Good weather greatly increases the chance of a successful crossing, for this reason we allocate 3 days for your attempt and choose the best 2 days to get up on the ridge. Certain conditions such as high winds and excessive rain can make an attempt too dangerous and in this instance we can explore many other amazing yet less committing and exposed scrambles Skye has to offer.

The route itself involves longe stretches of grade 3+ scrambling with 3 avoidable rock climbing sections (graded Severe). This is a perfect challenge for climbers or confident hillwalkers hoping to explore more adventurous and exposed terrain.
