Nepal
Everest Base Camp, Gokyo lake, and the two passes, Nepal
This trip offers an incredible opportunity to explore Nepal and hike to Everest Base Camp, following lesser trodden valleys and visiting the magnificent Gokyo Lake. Our journey takes us over two high mountain passes, firstly the Ranjo La pass (5,360m) before tackling the mighty Chola Pass (5,420m) a few days later. Fit4 have trialled and tested this route and put together a tailored itinerary for what we believe makes the perfect Himalayan adventure.

FAQs
-
As we are staying in teahouses, you can expect three hot filling meals a day. All food is cooked to order and there is a range of choices from the traditional Nepali Dahl baht to spaghetti or even pizza. Jire, our local guide, always recommends dal baht before big days in the mountains. “Dal baht power, for 24 hours”.
-
No, each guest will be able to have 10kg of luggage carried by one of our superhuman porters. All you need to carry is a small day bag with an extra layer, water and maybe a few snacks.
-
Once you have signed up to the trip we will provide a comprehensive kit list and videos explaining what you need for the trip. If you have any questions beforehand, please get in touch.
-
Yes. If you are vegetarian or vegan, it should be pretty easy for you in the mountains as we recommend that guests eat vegetarian food whilst they are on the trek.
If you have a specific dietary requirement, please let us know and we can chat with you about any concerns and make arrangements.

We have created a trip which we think is the perfect route around the Khumbu region, it avoids the busy Everest Base camp trail and passes lesser trodden trails through beautiful valleys. The two high mountain passes are great challenges and have truly incredible views. We have also planned the route carefully to try and do everything possible to ensure controlled acclimatisation and so prevent altitude sickness.
-
Yes, we work with Nepali licensed guides and porters. We want to support the local economy in Nepal as well as ensure you get the best service possible. Having guides who have lived in these mountains their whole life is a huge benefit to the trip. Jire, a proud father of 5 children, will be our lead local guide. 2 of his sons work alongside him and together they make a team like no other. He is a very experienced guide, with an extremely caring nature and will ensure that you stay healthy and happy along the way. The ratio for guides to guests will be 4:1.

Yes*.
A qualified international mountain leader will be with the group on this trip ensuring that your safety is top priority and helping with the smooth running of the trip
*if there are less than 4 guests unfortunately we are unable to send a group leader. However, we are working with a well established Nepali company and local guides that we have worked with before. Either way we are confident that you will be well looked after either way and have a great trip.
